ASA Brooklyn Avengers Men's Soccer Team Goes 2-0 on Road Trip

Lincoln, RI – The ASA Brooklyn Avengers men's soccer team went on a two-game road trip this weekend, playing against Massasoit CC on Saturday and Community College of Rhode Island on Sunday.

"We played a great defensive game today," said the ASA Brooklyn Avengers men's soccer head coach Alphonse Prophete.  "At the end of the game, we pressured the ball on defense, we got the ball back and we scored a counter-attack."  Giovani Pretzantzin scored the lone goal of the game off an assist from Oussama Jamaoui.  "Our goalkeeper (Manny) had 6 saves," said Prophete.  "We're getting better at our combinations.  We're better organized and we're getting more disciplined."  The game ended in a score of 1-0 and gave the Avengers men's soccer their first win of the season.

"We had a slow first half," said Prophete.  "We relaxed a little bit on the second game, but on the second half, we were able to dominate them."  The Avengers scored their first goal from DeAndre Gordon, assisted by Oussama JamaouiJavier Mota scored the Avengers second goal (assisted by Anthony Ciceron and DeAndre Gordon).  "We relaxed a little bit again in last 5 minutes and we gave up 1 goal to them," said Prophete.  "Oussama played great defensively this game and DeAndre played great on the attack.  Anthony and Oussama have been the difference makers in our teams.  We're trying to get some more players in as soon as we can."

The ASA Brooklyn Avengers men's soccer team plays their next game against Mercer County CC in New Jersey on October 2nd 2019, 6 pm.
