The ASA men's soccer team got back to its winning ways in dramatic fashion with a thrilling 2-1 overtime win over Rowan College at Burlington County, on Saturday.
Saufyane Abou Liboud netted the game-winner in the 103rd minute, with the assist coming from Ronald Leandre.
Ibrahim Lakanobo registered the first goal in the 69th minute for the Avengers (4-2), winners in two of its last three matches. Lakanobo's goal, coming off an assist by Boubacar Keita, was the equalizer to Rowan's Jack Hoey's opening goal in the 18th minute.
It was nip and tuck the rest of the way for both squads, as neither was able to gain complete control. The Avengers managed to keep some heat on Rowan's goalkeeper Guy Amirov by peppering him with nine shots – including seven on target and five in the first half. ASA was helped by the efforts of freshman goalie Michael Bolvin, who stopped two stops for the win.
Up next for the Avengers is a Wednesday home date against Essex County College, at 3 p.m.
