ASA Brooklyn Avengers Men's Basketball 2019-20 Season Preview

Brooklyn, NY – The ASA Brooklyn Avengers men's basketball team is preparing to enter the 2019-20 season.  The Avengers men's basketball team is led by Coach Devonne Martinez, the 2017-18 Region XV Coach of the Year.  Coach Martinez features a newly revamped coaching staff, adding Reyna Filiberto and Daishawn Bryce to the bench while bringing back Davel Middleton and Raymond Burgos.

The ASA Brooklyn Avengers features returning sophomores Jahmier Pugh.  Brooklyn's own, Pugh graduated from Boys and Girls High School and plays the point guard position and the team will look for him to be the sophomore leader on a young freshmen team.  Coach Martinez understands that it's going to be a process, especially since the team is full of "true" freshmen.  However, there's much to be excited for as these freshmen includes players such as 6'6 Bryan Delacruz from Patrick School and 7'2 Emmanuel Umoffia from Africa.

The team starts the season on November 1st, where the Avengers plays in a 3-day Dundalk Mixer.  The team then plays the home opener on November 6th at Achievement First High School at 7:30 pm against Upper Room Prep.  The first regional game will be against the Monroe Mustangs on January 29th 2020.
