Brooklyn, NY – The ASA Brooklyn Avengers football team is ranked #15 in the final poll of the 2019 regular season NJCAA football poll. The poll is conducted through a combination of a computer algorithm as well as a 16-member committee to determine the rankings each week.
The Avengers remain at the #15 after the win against Wesley College JV. The #15 ranking first came after the win against JuCo opponent Louisburg College. Prior to the #15 ranking, The Avengers reached #16 after the Avengers victory on October 27th, 2019 against conference opponents Monroe Mustangs (formerly #12 prior to the Oct 27th game). The Avengers first cracked the top 20 on October 14th 2019 after 3 consecutive weeks of the Avengers receiving votes, and marked the first time the team has been ranked since the Fall of 2018. Featuring an offense that is ranked #2 in the country in points per game with 46.7 and a defense ranked #12 in the country in points allowed per game with 16.8, the Avengers ranking comes amid wins against 4 junior colleges: Monroe College, Louisburg College, College of DuPage, Hudson Valley Community College. The team also recently won against 4 year college: Wesley College JV. Earlier in the season, the team scored a program high in points with 98 in a win against the NJ Warriors.
The ASA Brooklyn Avengers football team finishes the regular season with a 8-2 record, and was undefeated on the road with a 7-0 record.
