Brooklyn, NY – The ASA College Brooklyn Avengers football team played their 2019 home opener against Georgia Military College, ranked #19, at Aviator Sports Complex.
In the first quarter of the game, the Avengers pushed back Georgia Military where they were forced to score off a field goal instead of a touchdown. In the second quarter, the Avengers defense successfully stopped their drive and the Avengers offense was able to made a successful pass that eventually led to a rushing touchdown from running back, Devin Dawkins. In the Avengers next drive this quarter, they made a field goal with 0:01 left on the clock to go up 10-3 at the end of the first half.
In the third quarter of the game, the Avengers made two successful passing touchdowns, both received by #11 Abdou Diop. Although the Avengers completed the extra point in the first touchdown, they weren't able to convert in the second touchdown. In the fourth quarter, wide receiver Emmanuel Oliver was able to receive a pass for a touchdown to go up 30-10. However, Georgia Military scored 3 touchdowns and successfully converted all 3 extra points to lead the Avengers by 1. With 0:26 left on the clock in the 4th quarter, the Avengers weren't able to score a final touchdown.
The ASA Brooklyn Avengers football team next travels to Rhode Island to play against Navy Prep on September 21st, 2019.
