Historic Championship Run Continues For Avengers at National Tournament Against #1 Phoenix

Only four teams remain in the 2017 NJCAA Division I Women's Soccer National Tournament, one being the ASA Brooklyn Avengers. On Friday, November 17, 2017 at 5:00 pm the Avengers will take on (1) Phoenix College (23-0-1). Phoenix defeated Georgia Military College and Lewis & Clark in pool play with a total of four goals scored with only one allowed. With a win, the Avengers would advance to the national championship.

So far this season the Avengers have yet to record a loss, with 13 wins up to this point, two of those coming in the national tournament. ASA is currently the only team with double figures in goals scored so far in the tournament, with 12.   The Avengers also hold the best goal differential in the tournament at +9.

The other two teams left in the tournament are (4) Eastern Florida State College and (2) Tyler Junior College. Eastern Florida and Tyler will kick off following the Avengers game at 7:00 pm.

QUOTABLE: "It's going to be our biggest challenge so far in the tournament, but we play our best when we're playing against good competition. We're excited and honored to have the opportunity to be here as one of the final four teams in the tournament." – Associate Head Coach Walter Jaramillo.

The 2017 National Championship game is scheduled for Saturday, November 18 at 7:00 pm.
