The Lady Avengers (14-5) possess one of the most feared trapping defenses in the NJCAA and they showcased that by using an amazing 22-2 second-quarter blitz to neutralize ECCC, en route to a 20-point win.
The ASA College women's basketball team will start the 2015-16 season ranked the 15th team in the nation according to the NJCAA Division I poll released this evening. ASA is coming off of their third run in a row to the NJCAA National Championships and third consecutive district title.
A pair of ASA women's basketball freshmen have been named NJCAA Division I All-Americans. Freshman forward, Cheridene Green, received Second Team honors. Freshman guard, Stephanie Davis, received Honorable Mention honors. They join a growing list of Lady Avengers who have received the honor in the past few seasons.
The ASA College women's basketball had their post-season run ended in the final two seconds in their NJCAA National Championships opening round game this afternoon. Salt Lake CC managed to corral a loose ball after a miss and lay the ball in for the 58-57 win. ASA closes the 2014-15 season with a 16-5 overall record. It was the Avengers third trip in a row to the Division I nationals.
For the third season in a row, the ASA College women's basketball team will be making the trip to Salina, KS, annual host of the NJCAA Division I Women's Basketball National Championship Tournament (March 16-21). The #22-seeded Lady Avengers will be taking on #11 Salt Lake CC in the opening round on Tuesday, March 17th. Tip-off is scheduled for 12PM CT.
The ASA College women's basketball team won the District C Championship for the third time in a row this evening, defeating Harford CC 75-66. With the win, ASA punched their third ticket to the NJCAA Division I National Championships in Salina, KS (March 16-21).
Sophomore guard, Alexis Johnson, recently signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her academic and basketball career at NCAA Division I Towson University (MD). Johnson joins a growing list of Lady Avengers who have signed with NCAA Division I schools.
The ASA College women's basketball team closed out their regular season tonight with a 51-34 victory over Army JV. ASA won all three meetings with Army during the 2014-15 season. The Lady Avengers finish the regular season with a 15-4 overall record. ASA will now move on to the District C Championship at Harford CC on Friday, March 6th. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM.

The ASA College women's basketball team improved to 11-4 this evening by defeating Army West Point JV, 50-46. The Lady Avengers are now 2-0 against the NCAA Division I JV squad. ASA will return to NJCAA action at the Community College of Rhode Island on Tuesday, February 10th. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
