ASA Women's Basketball 2018 Season Preview

Brooklyn, NY - The ASA Avengers women's basketball team opens the 2018-19 NJCAA season with the Monroe Classic from November 17th to 18th 2018.   Last year, the team went off on a 22-2 run to make it to the NJCAA 2018 National Tournament with a "Sweet 16 Appearance."  The team is currently led by interim head coach Salvatore Fabozzi.  He was promoted after serving as the women's basketball coach last year.  After last year's run, the team brings in an entire new class of freshmen with only one player returning from last year's roster, Aiden Rainford.

Quotables from Women's Basketball Head Coach:

Aiden Rainford – "I'm expecting her numbers to go up this year and have her play a more dominant role on offense."

Me'Ara Carter – "She's going to look to control the paint this year.  She's a great rim protector and gets up the floor well."

Shanese Miller – "She's going to be the one to control the tempo of the ball.  She's a pass-first combo guard that can score when we need her to."

Annakatrin Lamaj – "She shoots the ball well from the perimeter and she makes the opponents play her honest."

Shameika Dicks/Rosaisela Reyes/Crystal Carrasco – "They're players with good energy off the bench."

Polina Khoroshevskaya – "She's good off the boards and plays physical."

On the team – "This is a group of girls that shows they gel in practice.  The team has great chemistry and we're going to make the other team work."
