Women's Basketball Freshmen Named All-Americans

Brooklyn, NY---A pair of ASA women's basketball freshmen have been named NJCAA Division I All-Americans.  Freshman forward, Cheridene Green, received Second Team honors.  Freshman guard, Stephanie Davis, received Honorable Mention honors.  They join a growing list of Lady Avengers who have received the honor in the past few seasons.

Cheridene Green - The 6-3 power forward established herself as one of the better front court players in the nation this past season.  She led the Lady Avengers in scoring, amassing 282 points in 21 games played.  The London, England native also cleaned up plenty of glass, leading the team in rebounding averaging a little over 11 boards per game.  She poured in her season-high of 23 points; both times against Harford CC (once in the District C title game).  In ASA's first meeting with Harford, Green also managed to haul in 20 rebounds.  Green is only one of three freshman to be named to the First or Second All-American Teams (20 student-athletes).

Stephanie Davis - The do-it-all guard gave the Lady Avengers the athlete they needed to get to the basket at will and disrupt ball-handlers while on defense.  In 19 games played, the Newark, NJ native would put up solid all-around averages of 11.2 points per game, 4.8 rebounds per game, 2.3 assists per game, and a team-high 3.6 steals per game (ranked 8th in the nation).  Her back-to-back steals and fast-break lay-ins in the District C Championship at Harford CC helped punch the Lady Avengers' third straight trip to the NJCAA Division I National Championships in Salina, KS.

Both Green and Davis have another year to help ASA to their fourth straight nationals appearance and be the second class to make back-to-back trips to Salina.
