The ASA women's basketball make their third trip in a row to the NJCAA Division I National Championships.

Bel Air, MD---The ASA College women's basketball team won the District C Championship for the third time in a row this evening, defeating Harford CC 75-66.  With the win, ASA punched their third straight ticket to the NJCAA Division I National Championships in Salina, KS (March 16-21).

With the game tied 51-51 with 9:34 remaining in the contest, the Lady Avengers would put together a 9-2 run that set the tone for the remainder of the ballgame.  The run was sparked by a runner off the glass by freshman guard Kianna Mayers.  Freshman guard Diandra Darosa would then score seven straight points for ASA giving them the 60-53 advantage with 6:13 to go.  As time ticked away, the Fighting Owls made one last push to protect their homecourt, cutting the lead to seven with 1:26 left in the game after being down 14 two minutes earlier.

However, it was Darosa who put the nail in the coffin on a pull-up jumper with just over a minute left in regulation.

ASA was paced by freshman forward Cheridene Green's dominant performance in the first half, scoring 16 points, grabbing 5 rebounds, and blocking 3 shots all before intermission.  She would finish the championship game with 23 points, 12 rebounds, 4 blocked shots, and 4 steals.

Darosa contributed 18 points and 6 assists.  Freshman guard Stephanie Davis added 13 points and 5 steals, three of which led to crucial fast-break buckets.
