Women's Basketball Ranked For First Time In Program History

BROOKLYN, NY --- ASA Women's Basketball has finally broken through in the NJCAA Polls.

The Lady Avengers - in their fourth season of NJCAA competition - received their first regular season national ranking in program history, entering this week's Division I Top 25 poll at #24. The recognition comes after being listed in the Receiving Votes group three times over the previous two years (including twice this season) and being ranked #25 in the NJCAA Preseason Poll this year.

ASA is currently 18-3 on the season (1-0 in Region XV) thanks in part to their current eight-game winning streak, which includes victories over three ranked teams (one Division I, two Division II).

ASA will defend its ranking immediately when they host D-2 #14 Monroe College on Friday, February 8. The game will be played at the Brooklyn Stuy Dome (308 Koskiuszko Street, Brooklyn) and is scheduled for a 6:00 PM tipoff.
