HUTCHINSON, KS --- The ASA College Track & Field program opened participation in its second ever NJCAA Outdoor National Championships on Day 2 of the event on Friday, with the Avengers and Lady Avengers competiting in nine events on Day 2 of the Championships. Against the best competition in the country, every member of the program ran strong races to finish of the season and further advance the reputation of ASA College as a program working its way up the ladder
The highlight of the day for ASA was seeing members of the Men's team reach Saturday's finals in two of their events. Sophomore Ramoye Simon will complete his stellar career at ASA with a chance to win the 110 Meter Hurdles after qualifying for the final with a 6th-place time of 14.25. Simon would later team with freshman Waylan Andrews and freshmen Ernest Levert & Kwesi Williams to claim the last spot in the 4x400 Meter final, running a time of 3:16.09 - good enough for 8th place.
Along with Saturday's finals for the Men's team, freshman Britney Thomas will be competing in the Women's Long Jump, hoping to give the Lady Avengers a Top 8 finisher on the awards podium.
