Track and Field Sets Tone At Widener's Curran Invitational
CHESTER, PA --- A week after a strong team performance at the Richard Stockton Invitational, ASA Track and Field followed it with an even better showing at this weekend's Danny Curran Invitational, held on the campus of Widener University.
ASA notched five victories (four individual), three Top 5 finishes and seven Top 10 places among its 15 top performances.
On the Women's side, freshmen Tanasia Linton, Jada Steward, and Britney Thomas all won their respective events. Linton took the 100 Meters with a time of 12.46;Steward paced the 200 Meters in 25.40; and Thomas led the Long Jump field with a jump of 5.36 Meters.
For the Men, sophomore Ramoye Simon took first in the 110 Meter Hurdles, recording a time of 15.08, while the 4x400 Meter 'A' team posted a time of 3:25.03 to lead the Relay field.
Freshman Tyquan Dukes came close to giving ASA a half-dozen for wins with his second-place finish in the 100 Meters. Dukes was 0.24 seconds off the winning pace with his time of 11.13.

The Avengers and Lady Avengers has a busy week coming up. The team will compete at the St. John's Monday Meeting on Monday, April 1 and then travel to Williamsburg, VA to compete in the Colonial Relays from April 4-6.
