ASA Shines At George Mason's Father Diamond Invitational

FAIRFAX, VA --- ASA College Track & Field continued its strong sophomore campaign this past weekend, providing several highlights during the George Mason Father Diamond Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

The only junior college program in attendance more than held its own against some of the best programs on the East Coast, including Hampton University, Virginia Commonwealth University, Morgan State University, and host George Mason University.

Standout performances by the Avengers and Lady Avengers included:

  • Sophomore Ramoye Simon: 1st in 60M Hurdles (8.12)
  • Freshman Ernest Levert: 1st in 60M Dash (6.92) and 4th in 200M Dash (22.77)
  • Freshman Tanasia Linton: 6th in 400M Dash (59.77) and 7th in 200M Dash (25.79)
  • Freshman Tyquan Dukes: 8th in 200M Dash (22.90) and 9th in 60M Dash (7.14)
  • Men's 4x400M: 5th place (3:22.94)
  • Women's 4x400M: 7th place (4:13.42)

ASA heads back to the track this week to compete in the NYC Gotham Cup at The Armory in Manhattan. The event is scheduled to begin at 12:30 PM.
