Avengers Defeat Yeshiva University 7-2 In Season Opener

Edgewater N.J. - The ASA Avengers men's tennis team kicked off their 2018 season with a 7-2 win over Yeshiva University. The Avengers started the competition by taking two of three doubles matches. They followed this up by earning victories in five singles matches while only dropping one. 

 

Doubles Competition:

2. James Howard/Jared Howard (ASA) def. Dor Gutterman/Charlie Friedman (YUMT) 8-1
3. Vladyslav Kulakov/Sergey Semjonov (ASA) def. Mikey Ozery/Avidan Rudansky (YUMT) 8-3

 

Singles Competion:

1. Adam Rosemblaum (YUMT) def. Agustin Leon (ASA) 6-4, 6-3
2. Paulino Chiapponi (ASA) def. Dor Gutterman (YUMT) 6-1, 6-2
3. Vladyslav Kulakov (ASA) def. Mikey Ozery (YUMT) 6-1, 6-2
4. James Howard (ASA) def. Lior Brik (YUMT) 7-6 (7-3), 6-1
5. Sergey Semjonov (ASA) def. Charlie Friedman (YUMT) 6-4, 6-2
6. Jared Howard (ASA) def. Avidan Rudansky (YUMT) 6-0, 6-1

 

The Avengers will look to carry this victory as they face off against Queens College on Friday, March 2nd at 11:00am and then travel to play Chestnut Hill College on Sunday, March 4th at 12:00pm.
