Toms River, New Jersey– The ASA Brooklyn Avengers men's lacrosse team travels on the road for the first away game of the 2019 season.
In the game, the Avengers top face-off specialist, Robert Herring, was suspended for disciplinary issues and the Avengers was unable to win a face-off possession. Unable to win many face-off possessions, the Avengers were forced to play defense the entire game. The goalie, Pierre Eliacin, saw 43 shots and made 18 saves. When the Avengers did had possession of the ball, they were able to convert. Zach Dillon had 5 goals on 5 shots and Brandon Szabo had 1 goal and 1 assist.
"We had 10 players playing 60 minutes this game," said men's lacrosse head coach Christopher Tempone. "We were very happy with the effort they gave for the entire 60 minutes but it just wasn't the start we were hoping for. I'm very proud of the guys for playing tough."
