Jackson and Goodwin Named NJCAA All-Americans
BROOKLYN, NY --- The ASA Lacrosse freshman duo of attack Casey Jackson and midfielder Brandon Goodwin (British Columbia, Canada) have been named All-Americans by the NJCAA! The honors are the highest for members of an inaugural Avengers team.
Jackson came to ASA with lofty expectations and proceeded to exceed them. At the end of the regular season, Jackson finished with 97 points (67 goals/1st in NJCAA; 30 assists/14th) in 13 games. He would finish the year sixth in points with 102 (70 goals/2nd; 32 assists/15th) in 14 games. To put Jackson's scoring numbers in perspective, only Second Team All-American Jordan Saunderson (Onondaga) scored more goals (73) than Jackson after playing three more games.
His breakout performance came in a late April matchup against the eighth-ranked Howard CC Dragons. Jackson exploded for a season high 11 goals and three assists in a shootout, narrowly falling 23-22. His notched his season high of five assists twice, at Fordham on 3/29/12 and at Del Tech on 4/1/12.
Goodwin had an impressive season in his own right. He finished the season ranked in the Top 25 nationally in total points (76/11th), assists (35/12th), and goals (41/25th). Goodwin was a model of consistency, totaling at least four points in his final ten games. Goodwin posted season highs of six goals (vs. Del Tech, 4/15/12), and six assists (at Howard, 4/22/12).
