ASA Lacrosse Nets Six All-Region XV Selections

BROOKLYN, NY --- ASA Men's Lacrosse worked extremely hard in its inaugural season to lay the foundation for a successful lax program. The team's dedication was rewarded today, as six student-athletes were named to the 2012 All-Region XV teams, as voted on by the coaches in the region.

The freshmen duo of attackman Casey Jackson and midfielder Brandon Goodwin (British Columbia, Canada) were named to the First Team, while sophomore defenseman Sean Ayoung (Levittown, NY), freshmen attackman Ryan Watson (British Columbia, Canada), freshman midfielder Hunter Curran (Virginia Beach, VA) and freshman goalie Blake Duncan (British Columbia, Canada) earned Second Team nods.

Jackson and Goodwin led the Avengers' charge on offense, finishing as the team's top two in goals (Jackson), assists (Goodwin) and total points (Jackson). Jackson played in 14 games, notching 102 points (70 G, 32 A) on the year, finishing the season holding the lead in goals scored. Goodwin played in all 15 games for the Avengers and finished with 76 points (41 G, 35 A) on the year. Both players are now eligible to be named NJCAA All-Americans in the coming weeks.

Watson also suited up in all 15 contests for ASA and recorded 58 points (28 G, 30 A), while Curran played in 14 games and netted 26 points (19 G, 7 A) this season. Ayoung, the team's defensive captain, was the anchor of the Avengers' defense and played all over the field, doing whatever was asked by the coaching staff.

Duncan minded the ASA nets for all 15 games and ranked in the top ten nationally in goals saved with 251.
