ASA Brooklyn Avengers Men's Basketball Team Wins MLK Game Against Bryant and Stratton - Albany

Brooklyn, NY – The ASA Brooklyn Avengers continues their 4 game stretch by playing game 3 at home on Martin Luther King day against Bryant & Stratton – Albany Bobcats.  The Avengers look to avenge the JV Men's Basketball team after they also lost to Bobcats the day before.

On Martin Luther King Jr., the two teams faced off at Achievement First High School with near zero degrees' temperature outside.  The Avengers surprised the Bobcats by employing a full-court press right from the beginning of the game.  On the offensive end, the Avengers tried limit their 3 point opportunities and looked to feed the ball in the post every possession.  The Avengers offensive and defensive strategy looked to have work as the Avengers ended the first half 35-26.

In the second half, Avengers got into foul-trouble right from the very beginning and was forced to go small-ball.  The foul trouble and the fatigue from the two games the day before seems to have caught up to the Avengers as they nearly blown away a 15-point lead.  With time running down in the second half, the Avengers were able to secure a number of key offensive and defensive rebounds and managed to win the game 72-70.

The Avengers play the final game of the 4 game stretch tomorrow vs County College of Morris at 7 pm.
