The 2012-13 men's basketball team made history by scoring the most points in a single game in ASA history in a 127-74 victory at Kingsborough this evening. The current record was 116 against Valley Forge in ASA's first season ever back in 2008. The Avengers improve to 7-1 with the win.
ASA opened the game with a 9-0 run forcing an early KCCC time out and never looked back. In a game full of ASA fast-breaks and dunks, the Avengers would end the first half with the 69-32 lead.
ASA would add to the already more than comfortable lead in the second half. The Avengers largest lead was 58 with a little over one minute remaining in the game.
Every Avenger suited scored tonight; seven reached double figures in scoring. ASA was led by freshman guard Micqueel Martin who scored a career-high 23 points including a perfect 5-5 from behind the arc. Freshman guard Jules Tavares was also relentless off of the bench for the Avengers who poured in 21 points including 5-6 from downtown. Tavares was active on the glass as well pulling down 8 rebounds. Sophomore guard Eian Davis set an ASA record in assists in a single game with 16 to go along with 12 points for the game's only double-double.
The ASA bench outscored Kingsborough's 86-15.
