Avengers Get Back on Track With 82-80 Win Over Globe

Bronx, NY----- ASA made the necessary shots and stops to go back to Brooklyn with the 82-80 victory over Region XV Division I opponent Globe last night.  The Avengers improve to 14-6 overall and 2-1 in regional play. 

ASA was led by Mike McLeod's (Newburgh, NY) 23 points and 9 rebounds.  McLeod's two free throws with :05 remaining in the game put the game out of reach for Globe.  Freshman swing Justin Laboy (Queens, NY) gave a strong performance off of the bench tying his season high with 16 points on 7-10 from the field including 2-4 from behind the arc.  Freshman guard Daquan Brickhouse (Peekskill, NY) added 15 points and 7 assists. 

Globe managed a five point going into the second half.  The majority of the second half was controlled by the Avengers who went up by as many as nine points with 4:36 to go. 

ASA will be on the road on Thursday, January 26th, as they take the Turnpike down to the Community College of Philadelphia. The Avengers defeated Philly back on December 9th, 104-72 when they came to Brooklyn.
