Men's Basketball Prevails in “Battle of Brooklyn”

BROOKLYN, NY --- ASA improved to 7-3 tonight, and won their fourth game in a row with a short trip to Kingsborough CC tonight. The Avengers were able to hold off a pesky Wave team for the 92-78 victory. Kingsborough has yet to defeat ASA since the series between the two schools started four years ago.

ASA was paced by freshman guard Rysheen Dorn's (Philadelphia, PA) 25 points, including 16 in the first half. Dorn was exceptional from the field, connecting on 11 of 13 shots. In the past two games, the DelVal Charter product has been unconscious from the field shooting an astounding 90% (19-21) from the field. Sophomore lead guard Sa'Quan Davis (Washington DC) also finished with 25 points (19 in the second half). Freshman Dayvon Whitaker (Poughkeepsie, NY) added 13 points off of the bench including 3-6 shooting from beyond the arc. Daquan Brickhouse (Peekskill, NY) dished out eight assists for the Avengers.

ASA will have a busy weekend, playing three games in three days away. On Friday, ASA will play Delaware Tech in the Cecil Holiday Classic (MD). On Saturday, the Avengers will play their second game in the classic against Lackawanna. The road swing will conclude on Sunday at Ulster at 1pm.
