MCU PARK Coney Island, NY----The ASA College football team suffered a 63-13 loss for first place and at least a share of the Northeast Football Conference championship to Lackawanna College at home this afternoon.   ASA drops to 5-2 overall on the season and 2-1 in conference play.   The Falcons improve to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in the conference. The Avengers will be on the road at Erie next weekend at Erie CC.  Kickoff is scheduled for noon inn Orchard Park, NY.

It is the first time LC has defeated ASA since the 2011 season.  The Avengers still have the series lead 4-3 since the program's inception in 2009.

The Falcons would jump out on top in a big way, grabbing a 21-0 lead on their first three offensive possessions of the game.

ASA would settle down early in the second quarter and respond with a 74-yard touchdown drive capped by an end zone pass from sophomore quarterback Angelo Nocciolo to freshman receiver D'Ondre Gastion.

The Avengers pulled themselves back into striking distance on a frozen rope from Nocciolo to freshman Javin Tandy who would make a 90-yard catch and dash to the end zone, cutting the Lackawanna lead to 21-13 with 8:41 left before halftime.

However, the Falcons exploded for four more touchdowns.  Two of the scores came after fumble recoveries.  The Falcons held a commanding 49-13 lead heading into the intermission.

ASA was never able to recover in the second half.

The Falcon defense limited the nation's second-leading rusher ASA's Deion Tidwell to only 39 yards today.

Tandy finished the day with nine catches totaling 155 yards.
