Football Grabs Fourth Straight at Wagner JV

Staten Island, NY----The ASA College football team won their fourth straight game, defeating Wagner College JV 34-3.  ASA improves to 4-1 overall with the non-NJCAA victory.  The Avengers will return to Northeast Football Conference play on Saturday, October 3rd, at Dean College.  Kickoff is set for noon in Franklin, MA.

The Avenger offense produced 472 yards between the pass and run to the Seahawks' 118. 

ASA opened up their scoring on a perfectly scripted vertical pass play from sophomore quarterback Angelo Nocciolo to sophomore wide out Jacques Francois, which was good for 54 yards. 

Nocciolo topped his first touchdown pass with his second to freshman receiver Javin Tandy.  The two would connect for 58 yards.  Tandy added another touchdown reception and run from sophomore quarterback Emmett Hunt for 24 yards.  It would be the Avengers' final score of the afternoon. 

The ASA defense pushed the Wagner rushing game into the negative by a yard.  ASA totaled 17 tackles for a loss of 73 yards including five sacks worth 42 yards. 

Tandy would finish the game with seven receptions including two for touchdowns and 155 yards. 

Sophomore running back Deion Tidwell was just shy of 100 yards rushing.  Today he would finish with 94 yards on the ground and a touchdown.  

Sophomore defensive back Elijah Williams led the ASA defense with four tackles.  Defensive lineman Kenneth Wright recorded two sacks on the afternoon.
