Avengers Shut Out Widener JV 41-0 For First Win

Chester, PA---The ASA College football team cruised to a 41-0 victory this afternoon for their first win of the 2015 season.  ASA is now 1-1 on the young season.  The Avengers will be back on the road at James Madison University on September 13th to take on current #12 Georgia Military College at 1:00 PM.  

ASA scored on the first possession of the game and continued to pour it on through the first half, 35 points before intermission.  

The first drive was a textbook 10-play 57 yard drive capped by a Deon Tidwell 3-yard rushing touchdown.  

Freshman wide receiver Javin Tandy had an ASA career day with two receptions for 75 yards including a 63-yard touchdown off of a screen pass from sophomore quarterback Emmett Hunt.  

Sophomore wide receiver Jacques Francois caught his first touchdown in a an Avenger uniform on beautiful pass from sophomore quarterback Angelo Nocciolo.  

The Widener offense only managed 113 yards of total against the Avenger defense.  

Late in the fourth quarter, after a string of ASA defensive penalties, the Widener offense managed to get down to the ASA 6-yard line for 1st and goal.  After three straight stops, freshman defensive back Jordan Washington intercepted a pass in the end zone on fourth down to ruin Widener's chances of escaping a shutout.
