  • No Summer Daze For Football

    The ASA College football program is staying busy early in the summer months by volunteering at charitable events and fulfilling media requests. Most recently, Head Coach, Chris Boden, and the Avenger coaching staff served as volunteer coaches at the Lauren's First and Goal football camp this past Sunday. Earlier this week, Coach Boden, was also interviewed by Scout.com's 'BAMAMAG about sophomore offensive tackle Charles Baldwin's recent commitment to Alabama University while on a visit on the Tuscaloosa campus.

The article goes into detail of the success of the six-year program, an introduction of first-year Head Coach, Chris Boden, and features a number of alumni that have gone on to perennial powerhouse four-year football programs.
  • Opportunity's Knocking for Gridiron Avengers During Spring Ball

    This past Spring Ball four-year coaches flocked to ASA's 2015 Spring Ball practices. In total, 32 four-year NCAA Division I and Divsion II schools came to check out the next difference maker in their program. Schools from the major FBS conferences including the SEC, Big Ten, Big 12, ACC, and PAC-12. In addition, local FCS and Division II schools also stopped down at the turf during the Spring recruiting period.
  • '12 Offensive Lineman Signs With Hometown Team

    2012 ASA College and gridiron standout, Leon Brown, has recently signed a rookie contract with the NFL's Baltimore Ravens. After graduating from ASA, Brown continued his college football career at SEC power, the University of Alabama, where he started at right guard. As a junior, he would start at guard in the 2014 Bowl and this past season started in the Sugar Bowl in the first ever BCS Playoffs.
  • '10 Avenger Signs With Jacksonville Jaguars

    Former ASA College offensive tackle, Vincent Brown, picked up a free-agent camp invite from the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars organization recently. After playing the 2010 season for the Avengers, Brown was part of the first multiple NCAA Division I school signing class, accepting a football scholarship offer from the University of Southern Mississippi. He would go on to play two seasons with Golden Eagles, helping them to a Conference USA championship in 2011.
  • '12 Gridiron Grad Inks with the St. Louis Rams

    2012 ASA College graduate, Isiah Ferguson, recently signed a free agent contract with the National Football League's (NFL) St. Louis Rams. After graduating from ASA, the wide receiver would accept a football scholarship to the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
  • Sports Illustrated Expects Gridiron Graduate To Be Picked

    In the April 20th print edition of Sports Illustrated, ASA College graduate, Leon Brown, was mentioned as one of 300 candidates to be drafted by an NFL team during the 80th NFL Draft April 30th-May 2nd. After graduating from ASA in 2012, the highly sought after offensive lineman continued his education and football career at perennial college football power, University of Alabama.
  • Offensive Line Coach Gets NFL Opportunity

    Former ASA offensive line coach, Lonnie Teasley, will be leaving his short stint with the Avengers for a staff assistant position with the NFL's Baltimore Ravens. Joining ASA this Winter, Teasley was expected to play a vital role on the staff with the o-line considered one of the most important parts of the Avenger offense.
  • Offensive Tackle Makes ESPN Top-50

    ASA College (NY) offensive tackle, Charles Baldwin, was recently named one of the top-50 2016 junior college recruits in the nation according to ESPN. The rising sophomore started in every game played as a freshman and helped the Avengers to their third conference championship appearance in a row.

    Sophomore tight end, Raynard Ford, recently signed a national letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic careers at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette. He joins a long list of gridiron Avengers who have moved on to four-year colleges and universities.

    ASA defensive lineman Wensley Jacinthe will be continuing his academic and football careers at NCAA Division II power Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, TX. He joins a long list of defensive linemen that have signed with four-year schools so far this season.
  • Avengers to Take PSAC By Storm

    A couple of Avengers will be taking their talents to Pennsylvania with both signing with schools that compete in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC). Sophomore running back, Cory Bell, signed a national LOI to continue his academic and football careers at Edinboro University. Sophomore defensive end CJ Odegbo signed with Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). Both Avengers are already at their respective NCAA Division II universities.

    Freshman offensive tackle Jahair Jones recently signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his academic and football career at the University of Miami (FL). Jones will be joining a promising program that finished this past season with a 6-7 record and an appearance in the 2014 Duck Commander Independence Bowl. Only playing one season with the Avengers, Jones will have three seasons to play football for the Hurricanes.

    Once again, the ASA College football program is proud to announce that three more student-athletes have been named NJCAA All-Americans for the 2014 season. Sophomore running back, Joseph Williams, was named to the Offensive Second Team. On the same side of the ball, sophomore offensive lineman, Sami Kassem, was named an Honorable Mention All-American. Rounding up the trio is sophomore defensive end, Torey Hendrick, who was named a Defensive Honorable Mention All-American.

    The ASA College football team will end the 2014 season ranked #17 nationally released by the NJCAA Monday evening. The Avengers finished the season with a 6-2 overall record and a 4-1 record against fellow Northeast Football Conference opponents.

    Today, thirteen members of the 2014 ASA College football team were named All-Conference by the Northeast Football Conference. Five Avengers, all sophomores, were named to the conference's First Team. Five more Avengers were named Second Team.

    The #14 ASA College football team had their conference championship and conference record winning streak snapped this weekend, falling to conference rival, Nassau CC, 48-20 in the conference title game tonight. ASA ends the season with a 6-2 overall record and 4-1 in the Northeast Football Conference.

  • Monte Taylor Named NEFC Defensive Player of the Week

    Sophomore defensive Monte Taylor has been named the Northeast Football Conference defensive Player of the Week for his efforts at Louisburg College on Saturday. The 6-4 245-pound defensive end finished with 10 (9 solo) total tackles on the afternoon including five for a loss and two sacks, costing the Hurricanes 37 yards.

    The ASA College football team won their 15th consecutive conference game in a row this afternoon after defeating Louisburg College this afternoon, 44-13. ASA improves to 6-1 overall and 4-0 in conference action on the season. The Northeast Football Conference Championship stage is now set! On Saturday, November 8th, the Avengers will host rival, Nassau CC, at MCU Stadium is Brooklyn, NY under the lights. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 PM.

    The ASA College football team rolled to a 38-0 victory at St. Francis U. JV this afternoon. The Avengers improve to 5-1 on the season with the win. ASA will have a bye before travelling down to North Carolina for a conference game at Louisburg College.
  • Avengers Named Players of the Week

    Sophomore receiver, Olu Izegwire, and sophomore defensive back, Jeff Fulwood, have been named the Northeast Football Conference offensive and defensive Players of the Week respectively. They received the honors for their efforts in a 21-14 victory at Lackawanna Saturday.
  • Football Steps Up to #16 in NJCAA Poll

    The ASA College football team moved up one slot to #16 in the NJCAA national poll released today. The Avengers are coming off of a 21-14 win at conference foe Lackawanna. The win helped ASA improve to 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the Northeast football conference.
  • Avengers Pull Out 21-14 Victory At Lackawanna

    The ASA College football team remains undefeated after beating fellow NFC member, Lackwanna, this afternoon 21-14. ASA is now 4-1 overall and 3-0 in conference play. With the victory, the Avengers set the all-time record of conference wins in a row with 13. The Avengers tied the record last weekend against who previously held the record for their string of wins between the 2007 to 2009 seasons.
