Three Avengers Named NJCAA All-Americans
First Team Offense NJCAA All-American: Hosey Williams (SO./RB/Miami, FL)
The sophomore running back from Miami, FL had a phenomal season, rushing for just under 1,269 (best in the conference and third nationally). Williams rushed for his career high when it really mattered against Nassau CC in the conference championship game finishing with 179 yards on the afternoon. He scored at least one touchdown in every game including four out of nine games with two touchdowns. Williams averaged 7.2 yards per carry on 177 rushes. He is ASA's all-time leading rusher.
Honorable Mention Offense NJCAA All-American: Ouslet Volcy (SO./WR/Miami, FL)
Ouslet Volcy made the football field his stage this season. The sophomore wide receiver made a number spectacular plays this season for the #5 Avengers. He finished third in the conference in touchdowns scored with nine in seven games played. The Miami native was second in the conference in receiving yards with 594 good for 20.5 yards per reception. Volcy's standout game in a 69-14 rout of Dean College earned him National Player of the Week Honors after catching eight passes for 250 yards and four four touchdowns.
Honorable Mention Defense NJCAA All-American: Desmond Hollin (SO./DE/Miami, FL)
After strong freshman campaign, the 6-4 265 pound defensive end was even better in 2012. Desmond Hollin finished the 2012 season ranked fourth in the Northeast Football Conference in sacks with six in nine regular season games played. Hollin was a nightmare for quarterbacks and runningbacks alike finishing second in the conference in tackles for a loss with 14. The Miami native was a huge part of an ASA defense that finished the season ranked fourth in points allowed, giving up only 12.4 points per contest.
