BROOKLYN, NY --- Sophomore kicker Cherchen Aloema was named the NJCAA Special Teams Player of the Week for the final week of the football regular season.

Aloema earned the award after his heroics in the then-#5 Avengers' thrilling 30-29 Northeast Football Conference-clinching victory over #3 Nassau CC. The Miami, FL native made 3-of-4 extra points and kicked the game-winning 36-yard field goal with six seconds remaining to give ASA its first conference title in three seasons of NEFC membership.

Aloema is the second Avengers Football player to earn National Player of the Week honors, joining sophomore wide receiver Ouslet Volcy, who earned Offensive Player of the Week honors for Week 7 of the season.

The #3 Avengers will host #4 Snow College (UT) in the inaugural Carrier Dome Bowl on Saturday, December 1 in Syracuse, NY. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
