Chester, PA------#11 ASA had no trouble at all this afternoon as they blew right past the Widener JV 67-0. The Avengers improve to a perfect 5-0 with the win. ASA remains 1-0 in NEFC play.
ASA would score on the first drive of the game on a 12-yard Hosey Williams run and were in cruise control from there on out, scoring on every offensive drive with the exception of one. On their next drive, freshman quarterback, Daniel Pietrangelo, would go to the air on a roll-out pass to freshman tight end Shane Leutukas for his second touchdown catch of the season. Next, it would be another touchdown pass to sophomore wide receiver, Ouslet Volcy, who impressed last week with two touchdown receptions. Pietrangelo would end the first quarter with another touchdown pass to Korey Jackson worth twenty yards.
Things wouldn't get much better for Widener in the second quarter. Hosey Williams would score his second touchdown of the game on a 36-yard run. Williams ended the afternoon with 138 yards on ten carries.
Sophomore running back Eric Osbourne would record his first touchdown as an Avenger. The Avengers would also get a touchdown from their special teams on a 50-yard punt return to the end zone by Terrel Williams.
The ASA defense pitched their fourth shutout in five games allowing only one first down in the game. The defensive line would score their fifth touchdown of the season on a Robert Terrell fumble recovery forced by sophomore defensive end Trevor Harris. Sophomore linebacker Kadeem Willis led ASA with six tackles.
The Avengers' remaining games will all be against Northeast Football Conference members. ASA returns home to Old Boys High Field on Saturday, October 6th, to host 2011 conference champ, Dean. Kickoff is scheduled for 12pm.
