Brooklyn, NY----The ASA football program is proud to announce that four more student-athletes have signed with NCAA Division I institutions during the mid-year junior college signing period. Here are the newest signees that join the growing list of Avengers that are moving on to the next level:
Tiray Dove (Southeastern Louisiana University)- The sophomore defensive back moves on to Southeastern Louisiana University after a solid resume with the Avengers. The Jacksonville, FL native finished the 2011 with 18 tackles, a tackles for a loss, and one interception. In his freshman season Dove recorded 16 tackles, 3 tackles for a loss, 2 sacks, and 1 interception.
Theo Alexander (Southeastern Louisiana University)- The sophomore had a huge sophomore season for the Avengers in 2011 demanding the interest of four-year schools. In five games, the safety finished with 41 tackles, 1 fumble recovery, and 2 blocked kicks. He join fellow Avenger Tiray Dove.
Davon Johnson (Wagner College)- The sophomore defensive end crosses the bridge into Staten Island after a stellar career at ASA. The Baltimore, MD native finished the 2011 season with 15 tackles, 11 tackles for a loss, and 6 sacks. He also forced 2 fumbles. Johnson will join former ASA running back, Wandy Saintilien, who currently plays wide receiver for the Seahawks.
Isiah Ferguson (University of Arkansas- Pine Bluff)- The redshirt freshman played a vital role at the wide receiver position for ASA this season. Ferguson had a huge game at Erie CC where he finished with 5 receptions for 193 yards including an 87-yard touchdown reception.
