Goodyear AZ. - Former Avengers pitcher Jesus Reyes made his spring training debut in Monday's game between the Cinnincati Reds and the Arizona Diamondbacks. Reyes pitched one scoreless inning, striking out the first two batters and forcing the last batter to ground out to the shortstop. Reyes was invited to spring training by the Reds this year after playing the 2017 season for their High A affiliate Daytona Tortugas and AA affiliate Pensacola Blue Wahoos. Between the two leagues he finished the 2017 season with a record of (8-9), 3.60 ERA and 111 strikeouts.
Reyes pitched the 2014 season for the Avengers; he finished the season with a (3-3) record and 4.32 ERA. He struck out 72 batters in 50 innings in his one season with ASA before signing with the Cincinnati Reds in 2015.
