  • Freshman Pitcher Inks With Cincinnati Reds Organization
    August 28, 2014
    Freshman pitcher, Jesus Reyes (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic), recently signed a professional contract to play at the next level with the Cincinnati Reds organization. Reyes becomes the fourth Avenger to sign with an MLB organization. He will begin the professional process by playing in the instructional league in Arizona.

  • Placido Torres Named an NJCAA All-American

    Sophomore ASA College pitcher, Placido Torres, was named an NJCAA Division I Honorable Mention All-American, released by the NJCAA today. Torres is the back-to-back Region XV-Division I Player of the year, the first for the Avengers.
  • Baseball Ends 2014 Season at District Championships

    The ASA College baseball had their season cut short this afternoon, losing their second game (elimination game) at the Eastern District Championships against Harford Community College 10-6. The Avengers lost their tournament opener to host and #1 seed, USC Sumter last evening. ASA finished the season with a 28-17 overall record and their fifth Region XV title in a row.

    The ASA College baseball team won their fifth Region XV-DI championship in a row by sweeping Monroe College in a scheduled three game series. ASA would take the first game 3-1. The Avengers would come from behind twice in the second game, winning 8-7 in extra innings.
  • Avengers Defeat Globe, 6-3, For Regular Season Title

    The ASA College baseball team won their fourth Region XV-Division I regular season title in a row outright this afternoon by defeating Globe 6-3 in the rubber-match of the regular season series. ASA improves to 24-12 overall (6-4 in-region) with the victory. The Avengers will have a bye as the #1 seed in the Region XV-Division I playoffs and will host the winner of the Globe-Monroe three-game series. May 9th will start the championship series.
  • Avengers Bats Alive at Rockland CC, 16-10

    The ASA College baseball outlasted Rockland CC 16-10 this evening in a non-divisional region game. ASA improves to 23-12 with the win. The Avengers will be back on the field for the highly anticipated rubber-match with Globe that has serious playoff implications.
  • Avengers Roll Past Bronx, 17-1

    The ASA College baseball team cruised to a 17-1 victory this afternoon over Bronx Community College. The Avengers improve to 22-12 overall with the victory. ASA will be back on the field tomorrow, April 22, at Rockland Community College at 5:00 PM.
  • Avengers Sweep Hofstra Club

    The ASA College baseball team defeated Hofstra University Club in both games of a double-header this afternoon. The Avengers took the first game from the Pride, 6-2, and shut out Hofstra 10-0 in the second game. ASA improves to 21-12 overall with the non-NJCAA wins. The Avengers will be back on the field at Bronx CC on Monday, April 21st at 3:30 PM.
  • Avengers Outlast Monroe for Series

    The ASA College baseball team scored four runs in the sixth inning to give them the lead for good tonight against region opponent, Monroe, for the Region XV-Division I regular season title. ASA improves to 19-12 with the 5-4 victory and 5-4 in the region. The Avengers will be back at it tomorrow evening at Rockland CC. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 PM.
  • Avengers Take First Two From Monroe

    The ASA College baseball defeated Monroe College in the first first two games of a five-game series this afternoon and evening. ASA shutout the Mustangs in the first game of the double-header 3-0. The Avengers would win the evening bill as well 4-2. ASA improves to 18-10 (4-2 in Region XV play) with the wins that have serious playoff implications. The Avengers and the Mustangs will be back at it tomorrow, April 11th, at City Park (New Rochelle, NY) for another double-header. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
  • Placido Torres Named National Pitcher of the Week

    ASA College sophomore pitcher, Placido Torres, was named the NJCAA Division I Pitcher of the Week in a release by the NJCAA National Office. Torres' being honored comes a week after his monumental performance against fellow region member, Globe. He would throw a nine-inning complete game shutout in a 5-0 victory over the Knights.
  • Avengers drop Region Game to Globe, 4-3

    The ASA College baseball team dropped their first game in the program's history to fellow Region XV member, Globe, this afternoon. A first inning Globe grand slam was good enough for the Knights to hold on for the 4-3 victory. ASA drops to 14-8 with the defeat and 1-1 in 'conference' play. The season series is now tied between the two teams. The two will meet again at Preller field tomorrow at 3:30 PM.

    The ASA College took their conference opener yesterday by defeating Globe 5-0 this afternoon at Preller Field. The Avengers improve to 14-7 overall on the season and are now 1-0 in Region XV-Division I play. ASA will be back at Preller Field tomorrow to take on Globe. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 PM.

    The ASA College baseball team dropped their third in a row on the road yesterday, falling to Ulster 5-3. The Avengers drop to 13-7 on the season with the defeat. They will be back on the field today to start conference play against Globe. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 PM at Preller Field.

    The ASA College baseball team was defeated this afternoon at Cumberland CC (NJ) by the score of 13-5. The Avengers drop to 13-6 with the loss. Cumberland improves to 17-5 with the home victory.
  • Baseball Splits With Bergen

    The ASA College baseball team split a doubleheader at Bergen CC this afternoon. The Avengers defeated the home team 4-3 in extra innings and dropped the second 10-8. ASA is now 13-5 on the season after a successful Spring Training trip to Florida. ASA's loss in the second game snapped an eight-game winning streak. The Avengers will be back on the field at County College of Morris on Thursday, March 27th. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 PM.
