Avengers Split Double Dip With Dutchess

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY --- ASA Baseball picked up a road doubleheader split against Dutchess Community College on Sunday afternoon, winning Game 1, 5-3.

The Avengers were led by sophomore OF Andrickson Zorrilla (Yonkers, NY), who went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs, two stolen bases and a run scored. Freshman IF Jimmy King (Santo Domingo, DR) also drove it in two RBIs, scored a run and stole a base of his own. ASA's final run was driving in on a sacrifice fly from freshman IF Julio Ovalles (Ocoee, FL).

On the mound, sophomore William Pichardo (Santo Domingo, DR) recorded the win for ASA with a solid outing (5 IP, 0 ER, 3 K, 5 H, 5 BB). Freshman Jhon Garcia (Caracas, Venezula) recorded the save (2 IP, 2 H, K).

ASA is back in action on Tuesday, March 27 as they return to County College of Morris for a 3:30 PM matchup in Randolph, NJ.
