NY Assemblyman Walter Mosley visits ASA Brooklyn Avengers

Brooklyn, NY – New York State Assemblyman Walter T. Mosley came to the Brooklyn campus of ASA College on May 10th 2019 to talk to the Avengers student-athletes.  In attendance was the Provost of the College, Dr. Shanthi Konkoth, VP of Planning & Operations, Maritza Mercado, the Brooklyn Athletics Director, Lenny Pitt, coaches, and student-athletes from teams such as football, men's lacrosse, men's basketball, and men's and women's tennis.

As a former student-athlete himself who played collegiate basketball, Assemblyman Mosley has a vested interest in the success of this generation's student-athletes.  "Student-athletes are very unique students," said Assemblyman Mosley.  "They have a very unique skillset, and this skillset not only allows them to succeed on the field, but it allows them to be successful in both the classroom and professionally.   Wear that badge of honor as student-athletes."

After a lecture to the student-athletes and a Q&A session, the athletics department presented Assemblyman Mosley with an Avengers jersey.
